"Diaconia" Charitable Foundation

The volunteer will work with children from socially vulnerable families residing near the Foundation, in homes generously provided by sponsors in the Huysi Avan district. In addition to engaging directly with these children, the volunteer will also participate in various activities organized by the Foundation, contributing to its broader mission and programs. This involvement will offer the volunteer a comprehensive experience of the Foundation's work and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the children and families served.

About The Project

Background

Jambazian, the Armenian Relief Society in Germany/NGO, initiated a series of support programs in Armenia, marking the beginning of the Diaconia Charitable Foundation. In 2001, alongside other projects, the Foundation built 78 homes for large families facing housing issues. The Foundation's team comprises 60 dedicated staff members. Diaconia Charitable Foundation's mission is to assist disadvantaged families and implement activities that enable individuals to meet their own needs, transition from dependency, and gain a genuine hope for a better future. The staff is proficient in English, German, Dutch, and Russian. The Foundation also operates an educational center offering a range of programs, including language courses, pastry and sewing classes, as well as professional and psychological training. Additionally, the center provides opportunities for creative expression through painting and pottery classes.
